Maybelline FIT Me Foundation

I had seen this foundation in the stores months ago and this weekend i was in Walgreens and saw that they had it on sale and i remembered i had a $1 off coupon so i decided to purchase it and give it a try.  Well i must i have only being using it since sunday but i have to admit that it is a pretty good foundation.  And the fact that its reasonably priced $7.99 makes it even better.  The 18-shade foundation and powder collection (with six coordinating concealers) marks the brand's largest color range to date, spanning fair to dark skin tones. These oil-free formulas are numbered by intensity, which makes it easy to coordinate products.  The foundation goes on very smooth and absolutely weighless on my skin.  It provides a sheer to medium coverage that is buildable and looks very natural.  You don't look like you're wearing makeup; instead, it just seems like you have an even complexion.  And not that this should matter, but the sleek, minimalistic packaging looks more expensive than it is.   If i had to compare it to another liquid foundation i would say its more on the line of MAC's Studio Fix Fluid.

Beyonce's New Fragrance "Pulse"

"Fragrance is such an important accessory! I feel incomplete when I don't have my fragrance on it's like putting on your stilettos. When you feel good, when you look good, when you smell good, when you're fresh it makes you feel so confident. You feel that much more sexy. When you know that you're going to leave a lasting impression." ~Beyonce

A Few Fall Makeup Looks!!

Smoky Metallic Look

A little metallic shadow takes eyes from smoky to smoldering. Rim the eyes with black liner (we love CoverGirl LiquilineBlast Eyeliner Pencil in Blackfire), and brush a charcoal shadow over the lids and into the crease. Dust on a copper shade with a hint of shimmer, like Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Bikini Golden, to make eyes pop—and hearts stop.

                                                                     Wine Red Lips

A dark burgundy lip makes a deep impact, so keep the rest of your makeup simple with pale blush and shadow. Choose a bold wine shade, such as Dolce & Gabbana The Lipstick in Ultra, and sex it up (tastefully) with a dab of clear gloss on the center of the bottom lip.

                                                      Monochrome Eyes and Lips

Basics don't have to be boring. For a fresh and flirty look, stick to neutral shades.  A light brown eyeliner and shadow emphasize eyes without overpowering them (try Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Busy Signal). Finish with a swipe of peachy lipstick for a pretty, just-bitten flush.

We talked with him about his new gig.
For those who aren’t familiar with Fashion Fair, can you tell us a little more about it?Most women of color are spoken to in the drugstore, but this brand is luxury. Fashion Fair has been around 38 years and it’s a prestige brand that has never really changed its mission—it’s always been there for women of color. It’s a staple for me—my mom used it!—so to team up with them is really like coming home.
Tell us about your collaboration with Fashion Fair.I’ll be looking at color and shade ranges for the company, and also developing a color-based collection that will come out in the spring. Fashion Fair already has a ton of great core products—I’ll be injecting newness and fashion and more makeup-artist-driven products into the line.
You have so many loyal Twitter followers. What’s the biggest makeup question you get from them? The questions I constantly get are, ‘What foundation can I buy?’ What concealer can I buy?’ I always tell women to think about it before you go to the store. It’s like grocery shopping—you don’t go grocery shopping hungry. Think about whether you want something long-lasting. Do you want something with more coverage? Less coverage? Thinking about it beforehand helps you make a better choice—and it helps the advisor in the store to guide you.
Many women with dark complexions tell us that they shy away from powder because it can leave a gray cast. Is it ok to skip it?Powder is to foundation as topcoat is to nail polish. It’s a setting agent. You can build as much coverage as you want, but you have to set it. It might take trial and error, but you can find the right one. The best powders for dark skin are usually in the brands that target women of color. Fashion Fair makes a great loose powder—RuPaul is a fan of it.
Have brands gotten better at all over the years at addressing women of color? It’s still a struggle. You have brands that have never spoken to this woman. I think some of the brands just don’t know how to have the conversation. Because it’s more than just making darker shades—you have to reach out. Many brands try, but their attempts fall short. They launch the colors, but then get rid of them later because they say they didn’t sell—but really, they didn’t sell because of a lack of outreach. With Fashion Fair, I love that I’ll have the ability to train people behind the counter, as well. We’ll make sure we’re really talking to this customer.

I am so happy and so proud for Sam!!!!! Congratulations Sam Fine....Fashion Fair could not have chosen a better person.  I can't wait to see the new changes!!!!!
